Jacob Sebastian is a visual journalist who focuses on telling the stories of people and how they interact with the world around them. He realized his passion for media storytelling on a family vacation, where he conducted his first ever interview and took pictures of a local painter painting a lake. Despite the nervousness of never approaching a stranger to ask for a picture and what they were doing, he braved it and ended up experiencing the highlight of his day. This made him realize that maybe the whole “photojournalism” thing wasn’t as scary as he had thought.


Jacob is a junior at Western Kentucky University where he studies Photojournalism and Environmental, Geographic, and Sustainability Studies for his majors. When faced with his (sadly) rare free time, Jacob likes to go hiking in the backcountry, driving around his beat up Civic to see places he hasn’t explored yet, and reading a good book.
